POETRY: "Ocean Eyes" By Christina Adepoju

 “Ocean Eyes”
 By Christina Adepoju

She says she doesn’t want to love anymore,
the pain is too much to bear.
I sit by her side and ask her why,
her mind drifts off, forgetting what was asked
But instead remembers the horrible memories of her past.

She has loved and she has fallen,
Like an angel from the stairways of heaven,
She has loved but never loved back,
fearing that she may up end broken.
Her big, ocean eyes,
deep and endless,
easy to get lost in
aqua, teal, aquamarine,
show a side of her that’s never been opened.
Her face, so fair,
pure and white as snow;
her hair shines in the blazing sun,
flowing like an endless river of honey.
My Ocean Eyes, your exquisite beauty leaves me breathless,
beautiful than any other lady I could imagine
I love my Ocean Eyes
not because of the color
in the window to her soul
but because I am mesmerized
and lost by the means

of this mystique an beautiful creature
